NSAA's "Year of Art in Action: Connecting Communities"

"Hatchman", by Paul Ciaramitaro
North Shore Arts Association fast approaches its 95th anniversary! Without a doubt, the world is a very different place than it was in 1923, and the challenges before us will take individual commitment and global action.

To ensure the longevity of our much beloved association; keeping it relevant and growing in this rapidly changing world, this year the NSAA focuses on expanding the reach and scope of our mission and extends our energies to not only serving the artistic and cultural community, but the larger community as well. To define our efforts, 2016 will be NSAA's "Year of Art in Action: Connecting Communities".

This year the North Shore Arts Association commits to using our art space to experiment and to learn what we do not already know. We commit to using our social space to be a place where new ideas are generated about Art, society, and the role of Art as a catalyst for positive change. We commit to shared experience with our larger community and creating meaningful dialogue within that community.

Explore with us as we join Ocean Alliance and the Rocky Neck Art Colony in a series of collaborative events this June, examining the health of the worlds oceans and the impact that human activity  is having on marine life, the atmosphere, and the people of the world. The events of the month will include a NSAA artist member exhibition "Art Exhibition of the Sea and Science", performance art, and speaker series presented by the distinguished scientists who are the principals of Ocean Alliance, Dr. Roger Payne, Founder and President;  Mrs. Roger Payne; Dr. Ian Kerr, D.H.L, Chief Executive Officer; and Karen Ristuben, President of Rocky Neck Art Colony, artist and advocate on marine environmental issues.

As the North Shore Arts Association approaches its centenary, we honor our past, celebrate our present, and work with purpose to build vibrancy in our Association and our community for the next 100 years. Come join in the celebration!
